Enamel glazing technique
The glazing of the dial has two steps: the first step is to put the carefully prepared glaze powder onto the dial base; the second step is to fuse the two together at a high temperature of 840 degrees Celsius (1544 degrees Fahrenheit). The use of such high temperatures is due to the high melting point of the glaze, which is why this glazing method is called the "high temperature open flame method". In the glazing process, very elegant brushes or needles are used, and the microscope is also used. There are many different techniques that can bring different artistic effects.
Glazed – it is the oldest glazing technique. Grooves and lines are polished on thick metal plates and then filled with glaze powder, usually with opal glaze or translucent glaze. When all the space is filled, put the plate into the kiln and burn it. After cooling, the surface is polished with sandpaper (to make it dull), and then fired again in the kiln for glazing.
Cloisonne – Use the upper wire to pull out the outline of the pattern and attach it to the dial. Thereafter, the glaze is used to fill the different areas or spaces of the pattern, and finally the dial is placed in the kiln for firing.
Bas-relief glaze – The base is decorated with engraving or engraving and covered with a translucent glaze or cream glaze so that the underlying pattern can be seen through the enamel. These carved roads also ensure a better adhesion of the glaze to the metal.
